This website runs on servers of IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The servers are located in Germany. IONOS processes the data on our behalf and only according to our instructions (data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR).
Every time a page is opened, the server automatically stores technical data in log files:
We need this data to deliver the website, to keep it secure and to find errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The log files are deleted automatically after 90 days at the latest.
We use Cloudflare to deliver the website quickly and to protect it against attacks. Provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. All requests to the website pass through the Cloudflare network. Cloudflare processes the IP address and the technical request data listed above. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a fast and secure website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare. Data may be transferred to the USA. When you use a Petrades kiosk, deposit terminal or another Petrades object in Second Life, the object sends data to our server. Depending on the function, this is:
We use this data to provide the Petrades service: listing your pets, charging fees, running auctions and informing you. Messages (for example about fees or the end of an auction) are sent to you as instant messages in Second Life by our notification object. The legal basis is the performance of our service for you (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).
Visible to everyone on this website: the listed pets with their data and picture, the avatar name of the owner, the region (with a teleport link) and, for auctions, each bid with the avatar name of the bidder, the amount and the time. Your fee history and balance are only shown with the personal link from your kiosk.
We keep this data as long as you use Petrades. Booking data (deposits, fees) is kept as long as statutory retention periods require. Listings that are no longer active stay in the database so that information is not lost when you list a pet again.
Second Life itself is operated by Linden Research, Inc. (Linden Lab). Linden Lab processes your data in Second Life under its own privacy policy: lindenlab.com/privacy.
The pictures of the pets are not stored on our server. Your browser loads them directly from the picture service of Second Life (secondlife.com, Linden Research, Inc., USA). Linden Lab receives your IP address and the usual technical request data. We use this service because it shows the pictures the owners have chosen in Second Life. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in showing the listings with their pictures (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA. Linden Lab's privacy policy applies.
On the About page you can send us an idea or report a problem. We store what you enter: your role, the breedable type, your text and, if you want, your Second Life name. Your Second Life name is optional. We use your message only to plan and improve Petrades. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving our service (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) and, for your Second Life name, your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
To protect the form against spam, we store an encrypted value calculated from your IP address (not the IP address itself) for 24 hours. We keep your message as long as we need it to plan and document improvements. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Our public pages do not set cookies on their own. Only when you save a setting yourself (for example a search, your
start page or the layout), we store it in a cookie in your browser. This cookie (petrades_settings) contains
only these settings and no identifier. We do not store your settings on our server. The cookie is deleted about one year
after your last visit. You can delete it at any time on the Settings page with “Delete all settings”, or in your browser.
It is technically necessary for the function you asked for; no consent is needed for this (Section 25 (2) no. 2 of the
German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act, TDDDG).
Functions that need a login also use a session cookie. It is only set when you log in, it is technically necessary for the login and it is deleted when you log out or close the browser. No consent is needed for this either (Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
The fonts of this website are stored on our own server. No connection to Google or other font services is made.
Links to Second Life (for example teleport links, maps and profiles) only open the page or the Second Life viewer when you click them. Before that, no data is sent.
This website uses TLS encryption (https). You can recognise it by the lock symbol in your browser.
You have the right
Just write to us (see section 1). You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
We do not make automated decisions or create profiles about you.
